Kappa Alpha Theta it is!
So I spent five minutes trying to figure out what sorority Koren Zailckas was in at Syracuse University. You may recall my rant about her portrayal of sororities, blaming hers for her drinking habits, even though she started her binge drinking at age 14. I was slightly concerned that Zailckas was in my own sorority, in her book she seems to know one of our chants by heart, and we are the only sorority mentioned by its real name. I was happy to find that this wasn't the case, she was actually a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Normally I would not disclose such a thing, since Zailckas obviously wanted to keep the group a secret by giving them a fake name. However, if I can find the group in a quick google search, then anyone else can too. Here is the article which includes a picture of her.
In the book, she would often mention the evil sorority next door that she and her sisters liked to torment (they were much more put together and I think she was jealous of them), so I looked up the address of Theta at Syracuse. They are at 306 Walnut Place, right next to 308, the home of my lovely Alpha chapter. She didn't like us. Her portrayal made her seem envious of us, that we were so put together and strong. Maybe she didn't get a bid like she wanted? Either way, it was good to hear something positive about my sorority.
